Fresh Conversation welcomes thoughtful proposals about the questions, habits and shared formats that shape ordinary discussion. We are interested in clear, specific writing that respects how differently people speak and listen.

What we welcome

Pitch an original article that gives readers a fresh way to consider a conversation, such as a useful question, a listening choice, a common misunderstanding or a format for group talk. The strongest proposals name one reader need, explain the central idea and show how the piece will stay focused.

What to include

Send a working title, a short outline, the intended reader and a brief note about your approach. Tell us if the piece has appeared elsewhere or if you are proposing it to another publication. We do not need a full draft to consider an initial proposal.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your pitch in the message. Please do not send confidential personal stories about other people or assume that a proposal has been accepted until the editors reply.
